Battlefield Equestrian Society, Inc. “BES” is an all-volunteer organization [a 501(c) (3) non-profit] devoted to supporting, protecting, and enhancing the Manassas National Battlefield Park (MNBP). Our primary focus is maintaining and improving equestrian trails and promoting horsemanship activities in the Park. Ongoing work includes trail erosion control, trimming, safety improvements and activities (mostly rides) to enhance access to, safe use of, and pleasure for all who use the park. Since BES was founded in 1985, we have provided over $850,000 in volunteer labor, funds, goods and services used for the maintenance of bridle trails in MNBP. The majority of our contributions come from memberships, volunteer hours, and BES fundraising activities. We are always interested in discussing potential tax-deductible donations of materials, equipment, and/or money for support of the trails in the Park. It is our pleasure to welcome you to a team committed to improving the quality of the equestrian experience on the Battlefield through providing an exceptional trail system and a heightened awareness of the Park's Civil War history.
